Gold medals will be awarded to the championship team in each division.
A Player of the Game will be recognized for every game, including the championship game, to highlight effort, sportsmanship, and standout play.
Venue access:
We will be using the main entrance off Sylvia Avenue. A Google Earth screenshot is attached to help.
Youth 12 and under: free
Day pass: $7
Weekend pass: $10
We’ve worked hard to keep all fees as low as possible, including team registration and door entry. These fees help cover tournament costs and allow this event to also serve as a fundraiser, so we can continue offering free and accessible programs throughout the year.
If the spectator entry cost is ever a barrier, please speak quietly with a volunteer or staff member. No one will be turned away or singled out — we want everyone to feel welcome.
Cafeteria & Food:
The cafeteria is located downstairs and will be open throughout the day.

RULES
5-on-5 play
Net height will be adjusted for appropriate age levels.
Game ball: Each team is responsible for bringing a game ball.
Side courts for round robin and semis
Championships played on the full court — livestreamed
Court dimensions:
? The Main Court is roughly 15 by 26 meters.
? 2 Side Courts are roughly 3 meters shorter in width, and 5 meters shorter in
length.
Game Timing & Blocks
? Games are played with a running clock.
? The clock stops only for fouls requiring free throws or official stoppages, including
injuries.
? There is a 1-minute break between quarters.
? Half time is four (4) minutes.(May be shortened to maintain the tournament schedule).
Equal Play & Substitutions
Substitutions will occur without stopping the game clock. All teams are expected to make
quick, efficient substitutions. Coaches are responsible for ensuring fair and balanced
playing time for all athletes throughout the game, while maintaining the flow of play.
U10 & U12
? Equal play is required for the first three (3) quarters.
? The 4th quarter is open substitution.

U12
? 36 minutes running time (4 × 9-minute quarters)
? 1-hour 10-minute total game block
Tournament Format
Round Robin Play (4 Teams)
Each team plays every other team once (6 games total)
Teams are ranked 1st-4th following round-robin play.
Playoffs
Semifinals
? Semi 1: 1st place vs 4th place
? Semi 2: 2nd place vs 3rd place
Championship
? Championship game between the winners of the semifinals
Standings & Tie-Breaking
? No overtime in round-robin games
? Standings are determined by:
? Win/Loss record
? Points for and points against (as required)
Overtime Rules
Semifinals & Championship Games
? If tied at the end of regulation, a 5-minute sudden-death overtime quarter will be
played, First team to score wins.
? If still tied after 5 minutes, additional 5-minute sudden-death quarters will be played until
a winner is determined
Age Eligibility
? Players must compete within their appropriate age division
? No over-age players permitted
Defence & Pressing Rules
U12
? No full-court press in round-robin games
? Defence must retreat to half court after a made basket or dead ball
? Person-to-person defence only
? No zone defence
? No sustained double-teaming
Playoffs (Semifinals & Championship):
? Full-court press permitted in the final quarter only
? Person-to-person press only (no zone press)
U12 Division 1 & Division 2 - Final Quarter Defence
? Trapping and help defence are permitted when reacting to play
? Zone defences and repeated trapping schemes are not permitted
U12 & U14 Mercy / Sportsmanship Rule
? If a team leads by 20 or more points, the leading team must drop back to half-court
defence
Timeouts
? Each team is permitted one (1) 30-second timeout per quarter
? Timeouts do not carry over
Fouls & Free Throws
? Team fouls and free throws follow standard FIBA rules
? Referees manage all penalty situations
Team Rosters & Bench
? Only registered players and coaches listed on the game sheet are permitted on the
bench
General Play & Conduct
? Games are played under FIBA-based rules, with age-appropriate modifications
? Respectful conduct is expected from all players, coaches, and spectators
Final Authority
Tournament organizers and referees have final authority on all rule interpretations, scheduling
adjustments, and game management decisions.
