Classification Schedule

**PLEASE NOTE OTHER AGES WILL BE SCHEDULED AND THE UPDATED HERE ASAP – WE HAVE ALOT OF PLAYERS AND LIMITED GYM SPACE UNTIL SCHOOLS RENT AGAIN SO THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE IN ADVANCE**

We are so happy to be able to get our Bedford Eagles back on the court, but our gym time has been severely cut back due to COVID and the limited number of gyms that are available to us at the current time.  As such, the Classification process as a whole will take more than a month to complete.  Please be patient with us as we work through a few divisions at a time so that no division individually has to sustain a prolonged tryout period.

There are no switches done during Classification. Players are put into groups by a team of evaluators for a specific purpose. For the second round, your child could be GROUP 2 and then the third round could be GROUP 1. All groups will formed and posted as soon as possible between sessions.

If your child only wants to play REC – and they do not want to attend all sessions – that is fine – but please attend at least one. Everyone is invited to take part in all of them.

If your child wants to try for a spot on a REP team – they MUST attend at least 2 of the 3 classification sessions so the evaluators can make a proper assessment.

Please check the schedule regularly for any potential updates and changes. Emails are sent to everyone but occasionally that connection doesn’t happen.  Reminders to check the website when group lists are ready or if there are changes will also be posted to Facebook so be sure to Like our page.

Please bring the following:

  •             A full water bottle
  •             Indoor Sneakers
  •             A basketball, if you have one
  •             A uniform deposit cheque made out to BMBA for $100 and post-dated June 1, 2021 (this will be cashed only if the uniform is damaged or not returned)

Please check the schedule regularly – for any updates and changes if any at all. I do try and email everyone – but occasionally that connection doesn’t happen and I don’t want anyone to miss anything important.

YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ONLINE WELLNESS FORM EACH AND EVERY SESSION.  All athletes will have to checked in upon entry to the gym and have their temperatures taken.

  • ***** VERY IMPORTANT … PLEASE READ *****
  • The following guidelines must be adhered to or we risk losing our gym time:
  • There is no entrance to the facility until 5 minutes before our scheduled time.
  • The entire group will go in at once so expect and plan to have to wait outside for a few minutes.
  • Please check in with a volunteer, confirm which side of the gym you are on and sanitize your hands.
  • Masks MUST be worn upon entering and exiting and using washrooms. Masks can only be removed inside the gym.
  • Your outdoor shoes are the only thing that can be left outside the gym. You must put your indoor sneakers on inside the gym, not in the hallway.
  • Follow the signs for proper entrance and exit from the gym
  • If the gym is divided you MUST go to your assigned side and you are not to switch at any time.
  • Parents are not permitted inside the facility
  • Please make sure all of the information you provided upon registration is correct as it will be used in the event contract tracing becomes necessary.
